Bikaner City – The Land of Desert Bloomed Beauty in Rajasthan

Bikaner is a beautiful city of Rajasthan, which was founded by Rao Bijaki. The term Bikaner is derived from two world ‘Bika’ & ‘Nehra’. The city is 330Km away from the capital city of Rajasthan “Jaipur”. The city of Bikaner is very famous for its forts, temples, palaces and sweets & snacks.

Bikaner was built in 15th century during the Mughal period of Akbar and Jahangir. Lalgarh Palace is still the residence of the royal family and a part of it is converted in to the heritage hotel.

The Bikaneri cuisine is famous world-wide for its great taste and variety of snacks and sweets like samosa, ghewar, gulab jamun, jalebi, bhujia and kachori etc.
Bikaner experiences very hot days and nights in summers and freezing cold night in winters. The best time to visit this city is between November to February.

How to Reach
Jaipur and Jodhpur airport are the nearest airports to the city of Bikaner. Binaker will soon have its own airport by the end of this year 2013.
The city has its own railway station known as the Bikaner Junction and is well connected to the other cities of India. ROAD Bikaner is well connected by road.
